A dedicated Intranet for Ushuaïa Villages Franchisees in Record Time

Created by TF1 Licensing and inspired by the travel show Ushuaïa, Ushuaïa Villages is a new outdoor tourism franchise aimed at nature and authentic discovery enthusiasts. It includes sites and campgrounds integrated into nature, highlighting regional heritage and culture while offering activities that combine discovery and creativity.


 


Ushuaïa Villages is a community of independent owners eager to share best practices. In its first year, the Ushuaïa Villages network includes numerous campgrounds and sites across France.

Challenge

The Ushuaïa Villages team wanted to replicate the success of the Camping Paradis brand by setting up an intranet to facilitate the availability of documents and the flow of information.


 


The intranet had to meet several requirements:


 



  • Intuitiveness and ergonomics: So that campground owners could easily adopt the tool without training.

  • Connectivity and exchange: Allowing campground directors to connect and share best practices.

  • Information sharing: Enabling the Ushuaïa Villages team to share information, events, and marketing tools to support campground development.


The project targeted about a hundred users at its launch.

Why eXo?

Ushuaïa Villages chose eXo Platform for several reasons:


 



  • Ergonomics and intuitiveness: These were crucial as the platform caters to users with varying levels of digital proficiency and should be usable without training.

  • Community space logic: This was highly appreciated by the Ushuaïa Villages communication team as it offers many possibilities for community engagement.

  • Content management system: It is simple to use and allows for autonomous platform customization.

  • Implementation time: The campground network selected eXo Platform for its quick setup. The communication team wanted to present the project at the annual congress, which was a week away.

The impact

The project was launched in March during the annual Ushuaïa Villages congress. Campground directors attended a presentation of the platform and then received an email inviting them to join the intranet.


Thanks to its intuitiveness, the tool was adopted without any training.


Several sites were created with static content and are regularly updated by the Ushuaïa Villages team. Workspaces are reserved for dynamic content, allowing campground directors to exchange information and ask questions, particularly in the "Au coin du feu" community.


Currently, about fifteen campgrounds actively use the platform, posting messages, sharing best practices, and responding to surveys.


An initial engagement program focused on recognition was also launched. This program helps animate the community by allowing franchisees to earn points when they send or receive kudos (congratulations).
