Mutavie doubled the traffic through its website and integrated customer portal
Mutavie is the life insurance subsidiary of MACIF, a major mutual insurance provider in France. It distributes life insurance savings products on behalf of MACIF and other partner companies, managing a portfolio of more than 21 billion euros for more than 1.2 million subscribers.

The challenge

The digital team at Mutavie wanted to redesign the company’s 10-year-old website: mutavie.fr. Since they had created the site without the support of a content management tool, updating it was laborious for the site editors and required help from the IT teams.

Additionally, the customer portal was integrated with the website, but using a different technology and maintained by a different team. Mutavie, therefore, wanted to modernize its website while equipping itself with a powerful tool, allowing the digital team to regain control over the content and some development while being able to offer secure transactional services to its customers.

Mutavie coupled this redesign project with a mobile strategy aimed at acquiring new market share and developing customer self-service.

Why eXo?

Thanks to its previous experience implementing a partner's portal with eXo Platform, Mutavie had acquired the relevant technology skills and wanted to apply them to the management of its own website.

A careful requirements analysis revealed that eXo Platform met all the content management requirements perfectly with regard to managing the business applications needed for Mutavie’s ambitious but critical project.

Implementation

After a few months’ work, the mutavie.fr website had a new look with content such as product information, savings simulators, and company and financial news. In addition, the editors on the digital team could now publish freely.

Furthermore, the customer portal enables members to perform most routine procedures by themselves. These include checking their account status, updating personal data, contacting an advisor, and making savings deposits, withdrawals, or transfers.

The impact

The success of Mutavie’s new website is undeniable, as more than 300,000 members now connect to it regularly. In less than a year, the number of subscribers has doubled. The mutavie.fr website now gets up to 7,000 unique visits per day, the majority of which are subscribers managing activities such as withdrawals or deposits.

So Mutavie now offers all members a complete digital experience where they can self-manage their life savings. Previously, many of these actions required labor-intensive human interventions and reams of paper. Now through its online service,
Mutavie has improved its operational effeciency and reduced the associated costs
Mutavie now has all the tools it needs to increase its market share.
