The CRAAQ relies on the support of its 500 expert members who are always on the lookout for new trends and the latest technologies to produce, gather, adapt and publish information and innovative practices in the agricultural and food-processing sectors.
The CRAAQ provides specialized publications, dedicated events and many online services to the agricultural and food-processing community
Researchers, agronomists, advisors, producers and other stakeholders make up this unique network in Quebec.
The challenge
The CRAAQ had an aging tool that no longer met the requirements for community engagement and exchange. The organization wanted to set up a modern, easy-to-use and secure collaborative platform to promote networking, collaborative work and exchanges between Quebec players of the agricultural and food-processing sectors.
The project had to meet the following main issues:
- Provide a community portal to the CRAAQ ecosystem to facilitate the creation and the leadership of themes communities and to boost innovation.
- Centralize information and enable an easy access to documentary resources.
- Foster collaborative work and information exchange between community members.
Eventually, the project will count 2,000 users.
Why eXo?
A modern, easy to use, secure solution and a comprehensive support.
The CRAAQ quickly chose eXo Platform because the solution is modern and easy to use. As users have mixed digital appetites, it was essential to choose an easy to use tool.
On the other hand, since the portal is mainly aimed at an external audience, i.e. the agricultural and food-processing ecosystem, the CRAAQ was looking for a secure tool able to evolve according to its needs.
Finally, agile approach and comprehensive support, adapted to the CRAAQ context, are success guarantees both in the implementation and in the adoption of the platform.
All these assets confirmed the CRAAQ in their choice for eXo.
Implementation
An implementation community by community.
To foster the platform adoption among its mixed audiences, the CRAAQ has relied on a community-by-community implementation. The first one, called ARTERRE, was launched in May. This community is focused on support and twinning between aspiring farmers and owners.
ARTERRE is a pilot community. The objective of the project team is to rely on this as soon as it is mature and to roll out.
Today, a hundred users exchange and share knowledge on the platform. The most used applications are Documents and Notes.
