Cartoon of the Week: You better not miss your target in China
A Chinese company is in the spotlight at the moment for asking its employees to do 10,000 steps a day. That means either they’ll walk for 2 hours – or do 50 to 100 push-ups as a punishment.
Even if the settlement seems serious and a bit cruel (well, not for the sports fanatic), the company is doing it in order to improve its employees’ health and fitness. Employers are witnessing health issues from young employees such as neck and shoulder problems.
The tech company has asked its employees to subscribe to an app that tracks their daily steps and movement.
At first people found it weird and were wondering why the company was making them do this.
“As long as I do my job well, why should I be asked to walk?” one of them grumbled.
But now many of them have stopped driving to work and are spending their lunch hours going for walks.
This revolutionary management style has lead workers to not only nurture their body with a healthy lifestyle but to talk and to appreciate each other’s company.
Let’s wait for this practice to be spread worldwide. I’ve already downloaded an app, I think I’m ready :p
