In It To Win It! Thank You, eXo Tribe Rocks

Great news this week at eXo! We are thrilled to announce that because of you all, we won the Bitnami contest after an intense competition!!!

The availability of eXo Platform on Bitnami is a great victory for our teams and for our goal of expansion for our open source software. This opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without a massive participation of all our users and supporters. We want to give a big thank you to everyone for their support during the contest. And in case you missed all the drama on our social networks, here is what happened for the last few days…

The Setup

• The Contest:
  Bitnami is a library of popular server applications and development environments that can be installed with one click, either in your laptop, in a virtual machine or hosted in the cloud. Bitnami’s commercial offering, Bitnami Cloud Hosting, simplifies the process of deploying and managing applications in Amazon EC2.

  

  Since the beginning of the year, Bitnami has been running a contest every month. The winning app gets added to the Bitnami Application Library.

• How We Entered The Contest:
  Last week one of our dear users, Bill Eichman, announced on eXo Community that he had proposed adding eXo to the contest and that our application had just been accepted. We only had 5 days left before a winner was picked!

• Less Than A Week To Make A Difference!
  To win the contest we had to get the most votes on Bitnami website and on social media. The more shares, likes and RTs the better, but we were late compared to some contestants who already had around 1000 votes…

  
  We could not have done it without each and every one of you, and we were stunned that —literally— just 2 days after getting started we were already ranked #3 in the contest.
  As you know, we here at eXo are all about empowering others to do more together. This time around it was you, our community, staff and friends that inspired us to do more and fight for the winning spot.

  And so we fought! It got intense as others didn’t want to lose either. We kept going from position #2 to position #1 and then again back to #2… but in the very end WE WON 🙂
  Our sympathy goes of course to all the Bitnami contestants. Hope to see you soon in the list of winners. Thank you for the great fight!
