Cartoon of the Week: Snapchat introduces new sunglasses, Spectacles

After two years of rumors and speculations, Snapchat published a blog post introducing “Spectacles”, Snapchat’s new sunglasses device with an integrated video camera that makes memories easier to create.
These smart glasses will come out this fall. When you press the side of the sunglasses, Spectacles records 10 seconds of video at a time. The videos are panoramic with a 180° view.

In related news, Snapchat has also revealed a company name change from Snapchat to Snap Inc.!
CEO and co-founder Evan Spiegel described this new freedom from cell phone cameras as revolutionary, saying: “It’s one thing to see images of an experience you had, but it’s another thing to have an experience of the experience. It was the closest I’d ever come to feeling like I was there again.”

With this statement about the sunglasses Snap Spectacles, I guess that Snapchat wanted to take our eyes a little away from the presidential debate that happened around the same time as the product was revealed.
