Cartoon of the Week: Take the time to say ‘thanks’ on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the time of year when you pause and give thanks to the people making a difference in your life.

In the corporate world, this means thinking about your employees and how you can recognize their achievements.

Could there be a better occasion than Thanksgiving to do so?

Great leaders know that they should take time to acknowledge someone’s achievement, and use continuous employee recognition to help drive productivity and boost performance.

As simple as this might seem, when an employee is recognized for a specific piece of work or contribution, he or she will continue to engage in the behaviors that led to this outcome.

This can only ignite a fire in a team and motivate its other members to try new things, push boundaries and work harder.

So if you haven’t done it already, take the time during this week to recognize a team member or two before closing up the office for the holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Don’t forget to eat well and enjoy that turkey.
