Make your sharing capabilities even more efficient in eXo Platform 4.3

As a promise is a promise, the feature scope recently detailed by Patrice Lamarque is taking shape and we are already able to provide you with concrete results!

As you know, our golden rule is to foster collaboration within your social intranet and focus on the interactions. So to encourage people to work together better, a brand new Document Sharing feature is aimed at giving you more control of your documents’ visibility.

We have made it very easy by adding a new ‘Share’ action in Documents apps. Anyone can use it by selecting a document, clicking on ‘Share’ and choosing the audience.

If you need to, you can add a few words about your document in the comment field in the sharing popup.

Another field allows you to set the right permissions for the space’s members: Can View for a simple read permission or Can Edit to let them edit and share the document.

Good things come in pairs; while improving the sharing capability of the Documents application, we seized the opportunity to improve it also in the Activity Stream. You are now able to share an activity by using the Link icon in the top right corner.
