E3 2017 Games: Who claims the crown?
The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 (E3 2017 games) − the year’s most important video games convention − took place this week and delivered a lot of major surprises.
As happens every year, attendees were waiting for spectacular surprises from the world’s biggest gaming companies. Most of the gaming videos were announced months before the show though.
But still everyone was expecting the head-to-head match between two gaming companies’ consoles: Microsoft versus Sony: the Xbox versus the Playstation. And, as every year, both brands tried to steal the show and to show off their strengths and the other’s weaknesses.
This year, unlike the previous ones, Sony was very predictable as it had revealed too much information too soon. Gamers were already anticipating the Playstation exclusives like God of War, Spider-Man and so on.
And that’s how Microsoft and other companies like Nintendo managed to steal some spotlight: Microsoft focused on its mid-generation hardware upgrade, the Xbox One X, along with its software side, while Nintendo managed to keep attendees excited with a short and simple video about Switch.
Ubisoft, the French-owned publisher, also created excitement by getting attention in its own way and holding it pretty much throughout its event. The company smartly and efficiently unveiled games such as Battle for Atlas, Far Cry 5, and Assassin’s Creed Origins and ended the show with a long awaited game: Beyond Good & Evil 2.
But no matter which company was the most mind-blowing, E3 is not about winning but more about reminding gamers of the pleasure of gaming.
