CES 2019: War of the Digital Assistants
2018 is finally over and there’s a new year upon us. That means a new set of opportunities, novelties and surprises.
With that in mind comes the world’s largest show, the Consumer Electronics Show – or what we all call CES 2019.
This year, digital assistants are expected to be in a war, to show each other and the whole industry that each has the best platforms for smart homes, connected cars and voice-powered offices.
From the Amazon Alexa to the Google Assistant – or even the Samsung Bixby – the show is becoming a who’s who for the smart home. So they will all have to make their case and showcase their capabilities.
Will the show draw in more mainstream customers and convince them that they need smart homes as much as they need smartphones? We’ll wait and see!
One thing for sure is that CES 2019 will be all about software improvements, more integration between, say, your lights and your TV, and more cohesive smart homes.
This year, CES will take place from Tuesday January 8 to Saturday January 12 with 4,500 exhibitors showing thousands of products. It is expected to attract a crowd of 180 000 people or more.
Have you already made up your mind about your favourite digital assistant? Or are you still waiting to see their capabilities on stage so you can decide?
I would love to read your thoughts!
