Cartoon of the Week: Will Quantum dethrone Chrome?
Finally launched this week, the new, super-fast ‘Firefox Quantum’ is seriously impressive. The new version of Firefox is available for download on Windows, macOS, Linux-based computing devices, iOS and Android smartphones.
Mozilla’s latest browser is lightning fast, sleek and ready to surpass Google Chrome in real-world speed. Besting Google’s browser means a lot of users might go for the open source browser.
Speed is not the only competitive advantage Firefox is bragging about. Mozilla stated in a post that “Firefox Quantum uses less memory than the competition”.
In a nutshell, Firefox Quantum is super fast, while still conserving memory.
Just thinking about how far Firefox had to go to catch and take on Google Chrome is quite unimaginable!
Mozilla has its fears though. Nick Nguyen, Firefox’s vice president of product, shared his biggest fear with Mashable about Chrome enthusiasts:
“My biggest fear is that people won’t try it. It’s like any release — you do it to make people’s lives better. But if people aren’t using your product, you don’t have an opportunity to do that.”
Will Mozilla become the next king of browsers and dethrone Google Chrome as users are predicting? Let’s wait and see.
