Google is turning 20 this week, reinforcing its dominant player position in the space. In honour of the occasion, Google has released a video

Although recently we have been questioning our relationship with technology and Google has been in the middle of various controversies, we should dedicate this day to celebrate what Google has been doing for two decades.

From Google Duplex managing our lives, to playing doctor by diagnosing depression and helping us to not to get lost, this search engine is very involved in our lives and is even able to read our minds with minimal effort from us.

It’s like Grandma, isn’t it?

Other tech giants are celebrating their 20th birthday too, including PayPal, Mozilla and VMware. 1998 was a brilliant year for them. Each has made a positive impact but every invention comes with side effects.

Spreading fake news and getting hacked while shopping online are just some challenges these companies face. But our lives would not be so easy without technology.
