Cartoon of the Week: Elon Musk’s SpaceX to take Tom Cruise to the moon to shoot a new film
The Mission Impossible star, Tom Cruise, will fly into space to shoot his record-breaking new film project.
With the help of Elon Musk, Cruise will make the trip with Doug Liman in the Axion Space Crew Dragon Capsule — owned by the SpaceX company — in October 2021.
Hollywood and Bollywood have a new competitor: Let’s welcome ‘Moonywood.’
But on a more serious note, although this will mark Cruise’s most ambitious stunt in a decades-long career, why would NASA allow Tom Cruise to go along?
According to Bridenstine, Administrator of the NASA, it’s precisely to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make NASA’s ambitious plans a reality: “If we can get Tom Cruise to inspire an elementary kid to join the Navy and be a pilot, why can’t we get Tom Cruise to inspire the next Elon Musk? That’s what we need.”
If the trip goes according to plan, it will be the first film ever to be filmed in space.
