Cartoon of the Week: Bill Gates bought a Porsche, to Elon Musk’s apparent irritation

Bill Gates, co-founder of America’s most valuable company and one of the world’s leading philanthropists, just bought himself a new Porsche Taycan.

Guess who’s not impressed? Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and one of the most controversial entrepreneurs I have ever seen (not that I have ever met him).

Bill Gates, Elon Musk

In an interview on YouTube, Gates praised electric vehicles and Tesla particularly by stating that passenger cars are “one of the most hopeful” factors in bringing down the cost of environmentally friendly alternatives. “And certainly Tesla, if you had to name one company that’s helped drive that, it’s them,” he said.

One would immediately expect that since he’s given Tesla credit for pushing other car manufacturers to go electric, he would buy one. But he didn’t.

He bought a Porsche Taycan instead and he’s very happy with it: “I’ve got to say — it’s a premium-priced car — it is very, very cool. That’s my first electric car and I’m enjoying it a lot,” he said.

Elon Musk is therefore not impressed with fellow billionaire entrepreneur Bill Gates, and even took to Twitter, as he always does, to throw shade at the Microsoft co-founder. He called him “underwhelming.”

“My conversations with Gates have been underwhelming tbh,” Musk tweeted.

But we’re starting to get used to how Musk operates, as he’s now known for talking dismissively about his  tech billionaire peers on Twitter.

Elon Musk, will you ever grow up?
