Cartoon of the Week: The ‘Batfleck’ age is officially over
Ben Affleck is out as Batman and will not reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’s reboot.
The actor played the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League but will now be passing the baton to a new actor.
With this, the age of the ‘Batfleck’ is officially over and writer-director Matt Reeves is already looking for a younger actor in his 20s, or 30s at most, to play the superhero role. The next rendition of Batman is planned for 25 June 2021.
According to Deadline, Affleck worked hard on the Batman script but knew ‘he wasn’t the right one for this particular version’.
He also shared Deadline’s article, writing that he was ‘excited for The Batman and to see Matt Reeves’s vision come to life’.
But the hottest part of the story is the fans who are making a lot of assumptions about who will be the next Batman.
I’ve read a lot of lists dropped by fans on suitable candidates to replace Ben Affleck as Batman. If you have any ideas or have heard any rumours about the next Bruce Wayne, share them with us.
